Table runner class 5

Snowballls!

It's snowball time!  No we haven't had a sudden blizzard, it's time to learn how to make the snowball sections of the table runner. The snowball sections are the three squares in the center of each block with the corners in a different fabric. In my sample the floral fabric.

Snowball Units
Step 2
1.Take one of the 6 ½ inch squares from Fabric A and 4 of the the 2 ½ inch squares from fabirc B

2.Draw a line diagonally on the 2 ½ inch squares from corner to corner. This will be your stitching line. Place 1 small square in the corner of the large square right sides together. Have the edges even and the line you drew running from side to side. Stitch along the line you drew. Fold the piece of the little square that is inside the big square over the stitching. It should cover the large squares corner. Flip the that piece back so you can see the whole wrong side of the small square.

3. Repeat for the other 3 corners. Trim the seam allowance to ¼ inch (Be careful cut on the outside side of the stitches. ) You will have what looks like an octagon.

4. Press the triangles open to form a square. The square should measure 6 ½ X 6 ½ inches.

5. Do the same with the remaining squares. You need 3 of theses.
